Good Shepherd Hospital Family Picnic

I had a blast again playing tunes and trivia with the employees and the families of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital ( in Barrington on August 23. Played summer songs, current top 40, animal/safari tunes and songs from the year 1979 (the founding year of the hospital). It was so fun to have so many participate in the name the music artist or group contest. In view of their 35th anniversary, Good Shepherd gave away many prizes such as popcorn bowls and blankets to the winners. There was fun for all including a petting zoo for kids, crafts and face painting, large inflatables to play in and of course good food including grilled brats, dogs, veggie burgers and corn on the cob. Soft drinks and ice cream were also in abundance. The highlight might have been when Good Shepherd’s executives took part in the ice challenge (check out the action photos), I put on “Ice, Ice Baby” in the background. Toward the last few hours the rain came and everyone took cover in the barn area. Appropriately put on songs about rain. That’s when we conducted a Hula Hoop Contest ( for the children. Great to have worked with Lisa O’Neil, Director of Public Affairs and Marketing at Good Shepherd Hospital and the folks at Rose Compass Events ( Wonderful to be with Good Shepherd for the 2nd time for this time of family fun.
