Knights of Columbus Party for Clearbrook

How can you not enjoy being with many residents of Clearbrook (http://www.clearbrook.org/), those being helped with disabilities, while they are having the time of their lives? The Knights of Columbus (http://www.kofc4483.org/home.htm) in Arlington Heights generously hosted this fun event on October 3. Grilled meals were provided for all. We also had a great team and enthusiastic team of volunteers from the local High Schools to assist, including being active with the residents during dance time. As you can see by all the photos everyone had a wonderful time partying to mostly interactive tunes. So we played songs like YMCA, Cha Cha Slide, Hokey Pokey, Shout, Chicken Dance, Happy, Dynamite, Cupid Shuffle and Conga. We even pulled out a Limbo Stick and had the residents and volunteers do The Limbo. For most of these residents it is such a special treat to take a trip away from their daily living quarters. It was such a blessing to be part of this meaningful activity. Special thanks to Al Vermiglio for all his inspiration, leadership and hard work in making it a success.
