Salute – 10 Years of making a difference

It is the 10th year for this wonderful organization. We are proud to say that we have been with Salute from the very beginning. They have assisted over 1,500 families in Illinois. This years Pizza Party, for the 2nd year in a row, was held at Arlington Park with nearly 600 in attendance. Highlights included Gary Colabuono leading the raising of funds, speeches by the founders; Will & Marybeth Beiersdorf, Mayor Arlene Mulder and a wonderful video presentation. Torran Crawford sang the National Anthem & an excellent version of “Lean on Me” accompany by the Bill Withers version we provided. We played soft rock for the 1st hour. As the Pizza stations were opened we played from our Italian American Favorites http://www.windycityhitman.com/203/italian-american-favorites. Later on we also sandwiched in a current Top 40 Set. “The Sounds of The Big Band” played hits from the 40’s for just about the remainder of the evening, they were outstanding. We finished it up with a short Disco Set. Fun for all, check out the photos.
