Surprise Wedding?

You’ve undoubtedly heard of a surprise birthday party, surprise retirement party or a surprise anniversary party but have you ever heard of a surprise wedding? Well, after 25 years in the business we did one on October 4 at Cooper’s Hawk ( in Arlington Heights. The surprise was on the guests. John & Sandra Pikrone advertised it as an engagement party to their guests. They wanted the event to be casual in tone where guests did not dress up and did not bring gifts. So after DJ Bob started out playing some cocktail music (Rat Pack, Italian American Favorites & Jazz) John made some introductions using our wireless mic and eventual introduced a friend who just happened to be a Judge. Judge William Raines suggested to everyone that while they were getting engaged anyway, why not go all the way especially since everyone was already at a wonderful restaurant. He then married John & Sandra right then and there to the surprise of their guests. The remainder of the evening was filled with celebration and joy. The surprise song played was “Soul & Inspiration” by the Righteous Brothers. Their first dance together was “Unforgettable” by Nat & Natalie Cole. Finished the night with “Celebration” by Kool & the Gang. In between dancing to a wide variety of tunes including many line dances. Best wishes to John & Sandra.

A few days after the wedding John e-mailed us back with this message;
I just wanted to say “thank you” for the outstanding job performed by Bob at our event at Coopers hawk on Saturday, October 4th. He kept the party lively, and we received numerous comments on how great the music selections were.

Thank you again for making our day special!
