Wheeling Police Retirement Party

We had so much fun with the fine folks of the Wheeling Police Department on June 20th at Royal Melbourne Country Club (www.royalmelbourne.net) in Long Grove. They celebrated with their long time fellow officer, leader, Deputy Chief of Police and good friend – John Teevans on the occasion of his retirement after 30 years of dedicated community service. Following cocktail time, dinner, speeches, John singing a personalized version of the Green Acres Theme and a video, celebration time on the dance floor followed. John’s 5 children were the dance stars of the evening. The guests danced to a variety of songs including Top 40, 50’s Jitterbug, Romantic and Rock & Roll. Especially effective were the party activity/line dances such as The Twist, The “Cha Cha Slide”, “Electric Slide”, “Cupid Shuffle”, “Willie and the Hand Jive” and a Party Train. A powerful country set of “Cotton Eyed Joe”, “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” and “Ring of Fire” generated perhaps the greatest energy on the floor all evening. Check out the colorful sound activated lighting on the photos. John loves to be with his wife and kids, thanked everybody and graciously shared his Christian testimony during his speech.
